While working office hours, the Event Operations staff member is expected to:
Field questions from constituents (alumni, students, faculty, and staff) over the phone, via email, and in person regarding event information
Assist with selection, supervision, training, and management of Student Assistants
Attend weekly/bi-weekly individual meetings with immediate supervisor to discuss job-related concerns and performance.
Attend select professional staff meetings, being on-time, prepared, and ready to contribute, as well as assisting with set-up of AV
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be enrolled full time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below).
Must maintain good academic standing and meet the enrollment requirements.
Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship.
Work assignments must align with the student’s academic program and professional development.

Business, accounting, public relations, marketing
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee event operations, including but not limited to:
Communicating with key stakeholders such as vendors and venues
Managing an event checklist and event timeline
Overseeing all requests for social media/photographers/etc. at events, and
Ensuring follow-up communications are in place post-events (surveys, thank you emails, Flickr photo albums, etc.)
Follow up with contacts immediately after events and input attendance information into alumni database
Supervise the student events team and design workflow
Co-plan and execute large-scale events such as Homecoming (fall), 1870 Court basketball receptions (winter), Alumni Gala (spring), and additional events as assigned
Help to coordinate the student event worker team prior to and at all events
Manage escalated on-site issues while at events
Schedule pre and/or post event meetings as needed
Maintain other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft products, polite and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
Event experience, former student leader
Compensation & Benefits

Tuition Remission:
- up to $8750 in (Fall/Spring) only if registered for 9 credits each semester. This covers tuition only.

Stipend (Fall through Spring)
- $4,000 per year
This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
