​​Description: 

​Graduate Assistant assigned to University Career Services can work in a mission-critical department on a wide range of substantive projects that complement many facets of graduate-level coursework.  The department commits to ongoing and comprehensive training and supervision of each Graduate Assistant to support their development as they master transferable skills in the Career Services setting.  Graduate Assistants in career services gain “hands-on” experience working on important projects with internal constituents (students, administration, and faculty) and external constituents (companies and employers), all of which enhance their competitiveness in future career aspirations. 

​This GA position is vital to student engagement. Individual advising, career-related programs and events, student leadership development, mentoring, career readiness advice, etc. are all produced by UCS, and it is more vital than ever to find ways to connect with students. This GA will support the implementation of new and innovative ways to engage with students through social media and other on-line platforms.  

Responsibilities: 

​Graphic Design, Social Media & Marketing 

​Support all UCS marketing efforts and promotional campaigns through social media, specifically on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. 

​Create graphics, written and video content for all platforms, and other marketing pieces. 

​Develop marketing strategies, promotional print materials, and targeted student emails. 

​Maintain organization of graphic designs, event descriptions, and photographs for efficient use. 

​Maintain social media analytics and report monthly to the supervisor.   

​Draft student, alumni, and employer success stories for distribution via social media, video, web, and newsletters. 

​Assist in the supervision of the Media Team student workers. 

Eligibility Requirements 

Applicants must be enrolled full-time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below).

Must maintain good academic standing and meet enrollment requirements. 

Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship. 

Accepted Academic Programs 

​​Marketing; Advertising,​ Multi-Sector or International Communication; other related programs.  

Required Qualifications 

​​Bachelor's degree required. 

​Enrollment in a full-time Graduate program. 

​Some experience with graphic design (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc) and social media marketing required.  

​Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 

​Excellent computer skills and experience posting a variety of content across different platforms. 

​Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to alter voice/tone through various mediums.  

​Attention to detail and an ability to think creatively and efficiently while maintaining organization. 

​Ability to multitask and prioritize necessary. 

​Fast learner and collaborative. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience in video editing preferred. 

 Compensation & Benefits 

Tuition Remission: 

$8,750 per semester covering tuition only 

Stipend (Fall through Spring) 

$4000

This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
