Graduate Assistantship – Fraternity & Sorority Life

Eligibility Requirements 

Applicants must be enrolled full-time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below).

Must maintain good academic standing and meet the enrollment requirements. 

Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship. 

Accepted Academic Programs

​​Business, Communications, Marketing & Media, Education, Humanities, Management & Innovation, Social Sciences, Hospitality Management, Sport Management, Other related fields​ 

Primary Responsibilities  

​​​Advisement and Connection: ​Assist in creating initiatives to help students feel connected to the University and to the Fraternity & Sorority Life community  

​Advise Order of Omega and Gamma Sigma Alpha (Greek Honor Societies), including the selection of membership, coordination of receptions and ceremonies, collection of materials and ordering supplies.  

​Assist in the advisement of recruitment efforts for the governing councils including fully structured Panhellenic recruitment. 

​Serve as the primary advisor for an all-inclusive Greek Week.  Working collaboratively with the student leaders and Campus Recreation.     

​Educate members on the Accreditation Program. Coordinate, track, and advertise Accreditation Program opportunities. 

​Assist in the management of confidential records, which includes new member materials and rosters and may include academic and conduct information.  

​Develop and maintain professional relationships with the University community, including faculty, administrators, staff and students 

​Apply ethical principles and practices to student organization advisement and operation of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life 

​​Event Management: ​Apply project management skills to assist in event coordination and implementation including (but not limited to) FSL Awards Reception, Greek Week, Leaders Trainings, Presidents Meetings, Tri-Council Meetings, Educational Speakers, and Workshops 

​Marketing Initiatives: ​Manage the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life social media accounts. 

​Create and publish engaging social media content 

​Maintain clear and consistent communication through marketing materials and email such as newsletters, flyers, and videos 

​Assist in strategy development to increase student awareness and attendance at events​ 

Required Qualifications 

​​Bachelor’s Degree required, enrollment in a full-time graduate program 

​Must maintain confidentiality in all duties assigned 

​Excellent communication, listening, and organization skills 

​Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Canva 

​Ability to design and create professional images for marketing materials 

​Excellent relationship building skills 

​Professional demeanor 

​Understanding of good ethical behavior, decision making, and leadership 

​Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously  

​Excellent task management skills and ability to prioritize tasks 

​Ability to think creatively and innovatively ​ 

Preferred Qualifications 

​​Experience with Fraternity & Sorority Life organizations​ 

Compensation & Benefits 

Tuition Remission: 

$8,750 per semester covering tuition only.  

Stipend (Fall through Spring) 

$4,000 

This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
