Network Security Analyst

Full-Time (Monday - Friday daytime hours with flexibility for evening hours to work on necessary projects)

Network Security Analyst 

Hiring Range: $36.37 - $40.82 per hour

Full-Time                                                        

 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of IT, this position will assist in providing technology consulting, systems implementation, and technology support services to County departments. The Network Security Analyst is a high-level technical expert in the security domain, who will be responsible and accountable for the security of County Informational assets.  The incumbent will work with Director of IT and staff to proactively set and monitor security standards, best practices, and systems necessary to ensure the protection and confidentiality of County Informational assets. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategy & Planning
    • Proactively research and stay informed of potential information security threats, industry trends, emerging technologies, and response alternatives.
    • Assess, monitor, recommend and implement improvements. 
    • Review, approve, track and report any security exceptions.
  • Acquisition & Development
    • Evaluate and use security technologies and tools. 
    • Provide insight on the deployment of security technology solutions.
    • Work with auditors to demonstrate processes and ensure appropriate levels of access are applied throughout the information and identify lifecycles. 
  • Operational Management
    • Maintain, manage, and monitor county compliance with security control frameworks such as CIS Controls & NIST.
    • Maintain awareness of current security requirements.
    • Report information security data breaches as required. 
    • Lead, facilitate, analyze, execute, govern, and represent plans or identified approaches for contracted security assessments, driving remediation through partnering with internal and external business and IT.
    • Interacts with internal and external customers
    • Provides backup support for IT staff in monitoring and responding to end-user help desk requests. 
  • Budget Responsibilities
    • Makes recommendations and provides the IT Director with information relating to system maintenance agreements in the preparation of the annual budget.

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a closely related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant working experience in IT Security and IT Certifications (CompTIA Security +, CISSP, CEH, etc) or equivalent combination of additional education/experience 
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a standard background check
