Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assist with New Student Orientation
Assist Associate Director of New Student Orientation in hiring Orientation Coordinators and Leaders by creating the timeline, updating applications, booking rooms, reviewing applications, and conducting interviews.
Assist with the development and implementation of the Orientation Leader Spring training class.
Hire Group 0 staff for summer Orientation logistical support.
Collect and analyze data related to orientation participation, feedback, and outcomes.
Use data to assess the effectiveness of orientation programs and make recommendations for improvements.
Prepare reports for office and university administration.
Manage the organization and inventory in our storage space of Orientation give-a-ways and supplies.
Assist with StormFest (Family Weekend)
Creation and implementation of the Family Weekend schedule for staff members.
Communicating with vendors contributing to Family Weekend programming.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with the University’s community, including faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
Correspond with accepted students and their families over email and phone.
Perform other duties as requested.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled full-time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below).
Must maintain good academic standing and meet the enrollment requirements.
Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship.
Accepted Academic Programs
Psychology, Hospitality Management, Business and Business Administration, Communications and Marketing, Education, Liberal Studies, Government and Policy, Health Sciences and Systems, Other related fields
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; enrolled in a full-time Master’s Degree Program.
Effective leadership and oral communication skills.
Must be available to work on select Saturdays during the Fall semester and some Wednesday evenings during the Spring semester.
Must be available to work a minimum of 4 days during university hours.
Proficient in computers and the use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Publisher.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all duties assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
Tuition Remission:
$8,750 per semester covering tuition only.
Stipend (Fall through Spring)
$4,000 (Year 1)
This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
