Graduate Assistantship – Student Government, Inc.

Eligibility Requirements 

Applicants must be enrolled full-time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below). 

Must maintain good academic standing and meet the enrollment requirements. 

Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship. 

Accepted Academic Programs 

​​Liberal Arts, Business, Management, Communications​ 

Primary Responsibilities: 

​​Assist in managing Student Government, Inc. operations including organization budgets and mentoring. 

​Manage Student Government elections platforms and communications. 

​Coordinate check requisition process, including signatory completion by appropriate personnel including the Student Government Advisor, President, and Treasurer. 

​Thoroughly monitor and log Facilities and Security invoices so that Student Government, Inc. is appropriately charged for Student Government events and organizations events. 

​Maintain a log of all Special Allocation and Professional Development requisitions. 

​Serve as “front-line” assistance to the SGI Executive Board. 

​Assist the Advisor(s) with coordination of regular and special Student Government meetings, events, and functions. 

​Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with the University community, including faculty members, administrators, staff members and students. 

​Other duties as assigned by the SGI Advisor and/or SGI Student Life Assistant.​ 

Required Qualifications 

​​Bachelor’s Degree 

​Enrolled in a full-time Master’s Degree Program​ 

Preferred Qualifications 

​​Programming experience, organizational skills, ability to work within budgets 

​Effective leadership and communication skills​ 

Compensation & Benefits 

Tuition Remission: 

$8,750 per semester covering tuition only.  

Stipend (Fall through Spring) 

$4,000 (Year 1)

 This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
