Graduate Assistant - Public Safety, Quality Assurance & Incident Reporting

Graduate Assistantship

Eligibility Requirements 

Applicants must be enrolled full time (9+ credits) in an approved academic program (see below). 

Must maintain good academic standing and meet the enrollment requirements. 

Must commit to working 20 hours per week as part of the assistantship/fellowship. 

Work assignments must align with the student’s academic program and professional development.

Primary Responsibilities: 

​​Review and organize incident reports for entry into the department’s reporting system. 

​Assist with classification and coding of incidents using federal, state, and local crime codes. 

​Perform data integrity audits and support platform migrations and system updates. 

​Assist with compiling data for the Annual Security Report (ASR) and ensure Clery Act compliance. 

​Identify and correct data inconsistencies or errors. 

​Create charts, reports, and summaries for internal and executive use. 

​Support projects including policy reviews, benchmarking, and public safety communications.​ 

Required Qualifications 

​​Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 

​Prior experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. 

​Comfort handling confidential or sensitive data. 

​Strong organizational and written communication skills.​ 

Preferred Qualifications 

​​Familiarity with public safety, compliance, or campus law enforcement environments. 

​Experience with incident management or data classification systems. 

​Background or coursework in regulatory compliance or risk management.​ 

Compensation & Benefits 

New GA Tuition Remission: 

$8,750 per semester covering tuition only.   

New GA Stipend (Fall through Spring) 

$4,000 (Year 1)

This position is offered for one academic year only—Fall 2025 and Spring 2026—provided the student maintains full-time enrollment of at least 9 credits each semester.
