Position Title:                 College Aide - RPS Power

Hourly Rate:                  $19.00 (Undergraduate)

OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:

Railroad Program Support is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, quality, and safety of LIRR In-House Force Account crafts and projects. Our department goal is to manage critical infrastructure assets to maintain operating conditions which include safety, reliability, efficiency, longevity, and customer service. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intern to assist in creating, updating, and organizing project documents such as plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Intern will help facilitate communication by scheduling meetings and sending out updates.
  • Intern will assist in creating and updating project timelines, tracking milestones, and managing deadlines.
  • Intern will help with tracking resource allocation and identifying potential resource conflicts.
  • Intern will support the manager with risk management by identifying potential risks assisting in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Intern will help with tasks related to quality control, ensuring they meet standards, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Interns will assist in tracking progress of projects and reporting on their status.
  • Intern will organize project folders and assist with other administrative duties as needed.

PROJECTS:

  • Furniture Contracts - The furniture contracts are to assist with various projects within the Facilities umbrella.
  • Tenant Billing - Bills received from vendors to be processed.
  • Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) - EAM is our database for all of our assets (including HVAC, Buildings and equipment).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science or related field preferred.
