Business Analyst
Position Summary: We are seeking a Business Analyst to transform our organizational data into actionable insights that drive mission impact through greater engagement of our health system members and industry partners. Reporting to the EVP of Research and Learning and working closely with the Chief Information Officer, this role will serve as the data intelligence partner to SI leaders, translating complex datasets from our CRM, event management systems, and other platforms into insights using compelling dashboards, analyses, and presentations that inform strategic decision-making.
SI is a fully remote organization and this is a fully remote contractor position (1099). The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who thrives in an independent work environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with our team. We are looking for a "doer" – someone who takes initiative, drives projects forward, and does not wait to be told what to do. We would like to find someone genuinely curious about healthcare innovation, technology trends, information systems, artificial intelligence, and the evolving landscape of health informatics. The role will offer excellent exposure to strategic perspectives related to the health care industry, technology innovation, and emerging trends in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Integration & Management
- Integrate and manage data from multiple sources including Customer Relationship Management (CRM),event registration systems, and other platforms.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all systems.
- Create automated data pipelines to streamline reporting processes.
- Maintain databases related to SI research and benchmarking activities.
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support and conduct comprehensive analyses of membership and partnership trends, engagement patterns, retention rates, etc.
- Analyze event registration data, attendance patterns, and member participation across programs.
- With EVP of Research and Learning, monitor financial performance metrics and identify trends in revenue, dues, sponsorships, and operational expenses.
- Develop tools to quickly and accurately report organization metrics to a variety of stakeholders.
- Analyze data from SI benchmarking and research studies.
Strategic Reporting & Insights
- Working with team leaders, translate complex data findings into clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership and board members.
- Working with CIO, prepare regular reporting packages (monthly, quarterly, annual) on organizational performance.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, operational decisions, and research initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with all SI team members to understand data, analyses and reporting needs.
- Serve as a data consultant to internal teams, helping them leverage data for their specific objectives.
- Communicate technical concepts in accessible language to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Care Management, or related field.
- Preferred 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related role.
- Experience working with membership databases, CRM systems, and/or association management software preferred.
- Non-profit or membership organization experience and knowledge of health care delivery system is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
- Familiarity or experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Hubspot or similar)
- Familiarity with event management systems and registration platforms (WordPress or similar)

- Exceptional communication skills with ability to clearly articulate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
