Cybersecurity Industry Facilitator

SPRING STUDIO
The Digital Ready Spring Studio is a 15-week studio for youth ages 16–25, designed to introduce learners to the field of Cybersecurity through hands-on learning, collaborative projects, and industry exposure.
As a Cybersecurity Industry Facilitator, you will be primarily responsible for helping to design, lead, implement, and supervise daily studio sessions, with support from college Lab Leaders. You will serve as a role model and mentor to young adults from the Boston area while leading applied projects that build the foundational technical and professional skills needed to succeed in cybersecurity and IT-related career pathways.
SCHEDULE
Industry Facilitator Schedule:
○ 3:00 – 6:00 PM, 3 days per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
○ Friday: 9:00 – 12:00 PM – Team Planning Time
○ Location: Digital Ready – Future of Work Lab
○ Onsite, in-person work is required for this position
(Schedule and dates may be adjusted based on program needs.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Foster an Inclusive Learning Environment
- Build meaningful relationships with students to support confidence, belonging, and self-advocacy
- Model and facilitate a collaborative studio culture among approximately 20 students
- Identify non-academic barriers students may be facing and collaborate with the Student Success and Belonging Team to support student persistence and growth
Design and Facilitate a Rigorous, Hands-On Cybersecurity Studio
- Implement Digital Ready’s cybersecurity curriculum, including required hands-on activities and applied projects
- Teach foundational cybersecurity concepts such as digital safety, threats and vulnerabilities, network fundamentals, ethical hacking principles, and risk awareness
- Prepare studio materials in advance, including presentations, demonstrations, labs, simulations, and safety protocols
- Facilitate daily learning through mini-lessons, group work, case studies, and real-world scenarios
- Identify technical or academic challenges and collaborate with the Studio Team to support student mastery
- Conduct small-group and one-on-one coaching sessions
- Provide ongoing, constructive feedback on technical skills, communication, and professional readiness
- Support students in developing a Digital Portfolio showcasing cybersecurity competencies, applied work, and career interests
Assessment & Documentation
- Monitor and document student progress through written evaluations, weekly check-ins, and qualitative and quantitative assessments
- Ensure students complete required surveys, reflections, and performance reviews
Collaborate with Your Team
- Work closely with Lab Leaders to ensure students receive high-quality technical and academic support
- Use shared planning tools and documentation to align instructional materials and expectations
- Participate in planning meetings, calibration sessions, and debriefs to ensure alignment with program goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional experience in cybersecurity or a closely related industry
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or supporting young adults ages 16–25
- Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
- Passion for education, equity, and workforce development
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in person in the Boston area
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to work in person for the full duration of the Spring Studio
- Must comply with background check requirements as required by MA law when working with minors
