Job Description
If you’re a Cyber Warfare Engineer, you operate at the forefront of cyber operations, defense, and calculated offensive capabilities. As a CWE, you will be highly trained in disruptive technologies, cyberspace capability development, and the full spectrum of cyber operations.
You will research, design, develop, test, and evaluate software and firmware supporting cyberspace missions. By applying principles of computer science and computer engineering, you will help defend critical national infrastructure and networks. When adversaries attempt to exploit vulnerabilities, they are met with the technical expertise and strategic mindset of a Navy Cyber Warfare Engineer.
Qualifications
Citizenship:
Applicants must be United States citizens.
Age:
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and less than 42 at the time of commissioning.
Waivers may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants between ages 42–54.
No waivers beyond age 54.
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a STEM field
- Computer Science and Computer Engineering degrees are strongly preferred
- Other related majors may be considered, including:
Cyber Operations, Mathematics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or similar technical disciplines - Applicants must have substantial software development and/or programming coursework (minimum 30 credit hours) reflected on transcripts
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in these technical courses is preferred (not required)
