IoT Product Specialist
**In person full time in Hopkinton MA**
Precision Digital is looking to add a product specialist as we move towards launch of our new industrial IoT product offering. For decades, Precision Digital has manufactured analog process control devices used in power plants, wastewater plants, oil refineries and similar industrial facilities. Now the time has come to launch an IoT platform allowing users to see their process data remotely. With actual product development having been largely completed by a third party, this role would focus on internal operations projects needed to launch the product, and then add customer facing activities once launched. With significant potential to grow for many years, this is an excellent opportunity to be an early addition to a new division within an established company.
The ideal candidate has a combination of skills and attributes necessary to complete a variety of tasks and activities. Knowledge of general manufacturing company operations is essential to integrate the new IoT product into existing internal systems. Ability to code in a variety of languages is needed to share information between CRM, ERP, website and other platforms. Coding abilities are also useful when discussing product attributes with the third party development team. Knowledge of network, IT and cloud systems is needed to ensure product operation and to assist with customer onboarding. Strong communication and presentation skills are needed to collaborate with internal team members and external customers. Project management abilities for all the above are needed too.
Post launch, the product specialist will engage with the internal sales team and external customers to explain product features and assist with commissioning. The product specialist will also field product support issues and ensure they are corrected. It is likely that numerous customers will request custom product modifications once launched. The product specialist will work to get a complete understanding of these requirements and work to provide offerings for them. The product specialist will act as the primary internal contact for any cyber security issues.
In addition to the above, the product specialist may also assist with other IT department tasks unrelated to the IoT product as needed.
