WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Implementing and maintaining security controls, including system hardening, vulnerability management, configuration management, and continuous monitoring across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Providing advanced cybersecurity support for enterprise systems and networks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
- Reviewing system configurations, infrastructure designs, and proposed changes to identify security risks and secure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
- Providing network security engineering support including implementation and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and secure access controls.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Applicants for the Information Technology Management series, 2210 at the GS-13 grade level must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:

AND
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three of the following:
- Configuring secure cloud and on-premises architectures using least-privilege and zero-trust principles, minimizing attack surfaces and preventing lateral movement within the network.
- Analyzing system and network configurations to identify security gaps and implement remediation actions, reducing vulnerabilities and improving system resilience.
- Configuring and managing VPN solutions to enable secure remote access, ensuring encrypted communications and protecting sensitive data in transit.
- Implementing and maintaining Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), including security policies, NAT rules, and App-ID configurations, preventing unauthorized access and strengthening enterprise network security.
