 Graduate Assistant for Account Management, Office of Marketing and Communications

Office of Marketing and Communications: Internal marketing agency for the University; In house production (Includes editorial and design) for branded University communications across media (print, digital, video); Produces official print communications (Bulletin, Commencement), managing external printers and billing; Creates and implements long-term and short-term marketing plans for colleges and admin areas; Manages budget, plans, and content creation for paid media campaigns---primarily digital search campaigns; Oversees stjohns.edu and CMS; Writes and produces stories for stjohns.edu homepage and college landing pages.

Description: .Student will develop facility working with business, project management, and remote communication technologies in addition to transferrable business skills such as oral and written communication, budgeting, multitasking, prioritizing and the like.

Responsibilities:

1. Proofread changes to official publications, ensuring the accuracy of those edits

2. Learn and use project management software to open new print and digital projects; work with a client to project manage an entire print project from start to end, under guidance of account team

3. Assist account directors with scheduling of story interviews/photo/video shoots and client meetings

4. Benchmark with peer institutions though web research and phone surveys; other duties as assigned. Maintain design tracking sheet

Qualifications:

· Degree programs related to this graduate assistanship: Communications, English, International Marketing, Marketing, Marketing Management

· Completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in: Advertising Communication, Communications, English, Journalism, Liberal Studies, Marketing

· Experience required: Proofreading, editing, good eye for detail, web publishing skills, ability to learn and be trained on new software/content management systems; project management software, ex. Basecamp.

Compensation:

· Stipend in the amount of $ 2,000 per semester

· Tuition remission - Covers nine credits

Dates of Assistantship:

· Start date: Spring 2024, End date: Spring 2025 by Academic Year (e.g., Fall 2022-Spring 2023)

· Hours per week 20 (excluding breaks, university holidays, evenings and weekends)
