SUMMARY:

The Government Affairs team is seeking a government affairs intern to assist in writing newsletter articles, tracking legislation, managing PAC data, maintaining events at our Capitol Hill office, and more. The ideal candidate would be an excellent writer, detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple projects at one time. The intern would have the ability to assist on various industry-related projects of their interest to gain a more complete understanding of our industry.

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Candidates must possess college level experience.
  • Knowledge of the federal legislative and/or regulatory process.  
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Positive attitude and an ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines while demonstrating professionalism.
  • Capable of setting priorities when multiple demands are present.
  • Must be exceptionally detail oriented.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General office work environment; in-office work required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitors and edits NECA’s Advocacy and PAC webpages.
  • Drafts and reviews letters, reports, and other external communications as assigned.
  • Attends and reports on Congressional hearings and other activities.
  • Creates content for and sends the monthly Legislative Update.
  • Assists in the gathering and updating of metrics. 
  • Provides administrative support for Government Affairs and NECAPAC.
  • Assists in industry-related projects of interest.
