Graduate Assistant, Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership

Position Title:  Graduate Assistant, Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership 

Department: Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership 

Hiring Manager: Dr. Stephen Kotok 

Responsibilities:

The graduate assistant in the Department of Administrative and Instructional leadership will assist the department chair and other DAIL faculty related to departmental activities and daily tasks. 

Research: The Graduate Assistant will be asked to assist department chair and other faculty with activities such as alumni survey, planning of doctoral symposium, and other activities. This will introduce student to basic survey design and to be aware of research at symposium. 

Data collection: The Graduate Assistant will be asked to assist faculty members with (alumni survey, candidate focus groups)

Service: The Graduate Assistant will be asked to assist the Department Chair with administrative duties, such as contacting existing and prospective students, maintaining social media sites, assisting with open houses and information sessions, and sharing information about the program.

Other Responsibilities

•    Attend 1:1 virtual (or, if possible, in-person), weekly check-in meetings with the Department Chair 
•    Maintain a weekly work log
•    Develop and maintain approved social media posts
•    Develop and support community building efforts

Qualifications:

Must be a full-time graduate student at St. John's University. Graduate assistant cannot not be fully employed at another job.

Hours:

Hours per week 20 (excluding breaks, university holidays, evenings, and weekends)
