2025 IT Cloud Data Engineer Intern

The Cloud Data Engineer role will be part of the IT Data team in the Cloud data Services team, in the Enterprise Services group. This position is responsible for working closely with the Cloud Data Development lead to develop, support various ETL functions using python and SQL functions in medallion architecture. 

Role Description:

Mizuho Americas LLC is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer for a summer intern role. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of IT Cloud data department and learn about cloud technology in the finance industry. This role will be responsible for cloud data warehouse development using python and SQL.  The Cloud Data Intern may also assist other team members with daily tasks, will participate in weekly intern cohort programming, and collaborate with other interns on a group project.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Develop Pyspark programs in Azure databricks
• Develop transformation programs using Snowflake SNOWSQL
• Provide technical support for Data warehouse issues such data load problems, transformation translation problems
• Contribute to the improvement of EL and transformation programs using Python, SQL and Pyspark in Databricks and Snowflake platform

Job Knowledge Requirements:

• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure Cloud
• Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, SQL)

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate students of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent majors graduating in May/June 2026
• Interest in learning and growing knowledge of cloud technology
• Good written and verbal communication

Salary: $30-$40 per hour
