Position Description:
City College of San Francisco is the one of the region's premier public, two-year community colleges dedicated to serving minority and undocumented students and those new to this country. Part-Time Instructor pool positions in the Computer Networking & Information Technology department.
Job Duties:
1. Teach subject matter of the classes assigned by the Computer Networking and Information Technology Department. Anticipated areas of need at the present time are: Web Development, Networking Technologies and Operating Systems (Cisco and Mac OS X), Mobile Technologies, Computer Hardware and Technical Support, Cyber Security, Server Operating Systems (Microsoft), General Internet and Computer Applications (See Application Procedure #1).
2. Teach day, evening, and/or Saturday classes or classes at one or more sites as required.
3. Evaluate student performance and progress through in-class observation, assignments, and tests and examinations.
4. Create lesson plans to reflect approved departmental course outlines and descriptions.
5. Participate in instructionally-related and departmental activities including, but not limited to, curriculum development, selection of appropriate instructional materials, revision of instructional and testing materials as required, and development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
6. Participate in departmental and College functions, such as staff meetings.
7. Support and engage in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
8. Participate in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
2. Earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR EQUIVALENT;
OR
Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT;
OR
Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer and Related Technologies or Computer Science (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).

Desirable Qualifications:
1. Recent teaching experience in subjects related to Computer Networking and Information Technology.
2. Recent work experience in the computer industry.
3. Knowledge and skills reflecting the current state of the computer industry, e.g. social networking, learning management systems such as Canvas, etc.
4. Industry Certifications: e.g. CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+, etc.), Microsoft (MCSA, etc.), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Apple (ACMT, ACA, ACP, etc.), Web (CIW, etc.), Security (CEH, CISSP, etc.)
5. Experience in Web Development and Administration and related certifications, especially in using HTML, CSS and JavaScript according to W3C Standards.
9. Evidence of successful instructional experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy.
10. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.

Selection Procedure/Conditions of Employment
