Medical Affairs Intern

June - August 2019 • Plainsboro Township, NJ

What I liked

The internship program was run very well and there is plenty of support and guidance provided between the HR department, manager, and mentor. I explored various roles in the company thanks to the support and flexibility of the program set up as well as my manager's emphasis on being proactive and independent. Overall I was able to gain great technical knowledge while growing in a broader sense thanks to the overall environment.

What I wish was different

Wish I could have stayed a bit longer!

Advice

It is important to be proactive with your learning and do not be afraid to reach out or ask questions. Most if not all the people I interacted with believed that the role of the interns was to absorb as much knowledge and helpful experiences as possible as a primary goal while providing a bit of support on projects at the same time.

Information Technology Business Applications Analyst

June - August 2019 • Plainsboro Township, NJ

What I liked

One thing that I liked about this internship was that I was able to gain experience in using Tableau, which I believe is a very important tool in many companies. I also liked that I was given the important task of constructing Tableau dashboards which assisted analysts in looking up customer-related information because I felt like I added value to the company.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to not be afraid of asking questions. Initially, when I first joined the company, I was afraid of asking too many questions because I wanted to prove to my manager that I was fit for the role and I knew exactly what I was doing. However, later on, I realized that it is important to ask questions because that is the only way you will truly learn and it also shows your manager that you truly care about what you are doing and that you are making an effort to perform the best you can.

Ethics & Compliance Intern

June - August 2018 • Plainsboro Township, NJ

What I liked

It was very structured and my responsibilities were always clear. I had a good relationship with my supervisor and everyone in the office was extremely friendly.

What I wish was different

They divide all the interns from various departments up into groups to work on a big case project for the company. It was really cool getting to know the other interns and to work on a project that would have an impact on the whole company, but our year the assignment was social media related and I found that somewhat boring.

Advice

Meet with and make as many connections as you can while you're there.

Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations Intern

June - August 2018 • Plainsboro Township, NJ

What I liked

The internship was part of the Early Talent Summer Internship Program, so there were professional and leadership buildings throughout the entire summer that were very useful. They also had a intern case competition that let the interns work in interdisciplinary teams together to solve a real life problem facing the company and present to the company's senior stakeholders. I also had a mentor in the company which was a great experience. I got to lead a project in Medical Affairs and learned so much, it was an amazing experience.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to learn more about what the other interns did during the program.

Advice

Apply because it was an amazing experience and there are positions available in so many departments.

June - August 2018 • Plainsboro Township, NJ

What I liked

being able to work on real projects that benefited the company, growing my network

What I wish was different

I wish there was less down time and my boss gave me more work to do. I spent most of my time not doing anything because there was nothing for me to do.
